My Crossfit Journey

My Crossfit Journey

Before I found you I had no hope of ever recovering from all the pain and lose I had experienced months before I ever touched a bar. At 155 pounds, I wasted away in literal darkness with no one but God and one friend to call on. I didn’t know what I was going to do and then I seen a ad that made my soul reignite calling all brave souls willing to take a 6-week challenge that would change their lives. I had nothing to lose so I applied then I received a call to show up to a gym I had never heard of for an in-person interview. I sat in that office that day across from one of their coaches as he explained to me what Crossfit was, the methodology to the training and how the results would be measured. He told me that he thought I’d be a good candidate and made me an offer.. I signed up that day to attend 3 classes a week for 6 weeks at the ungodly hour of 5:30 am. I arrived on the first day exhausted and scared as I watched the actual “Crossfit” class taking place. I was in the beginner class. They took my BMI measurements (155 lbs with 9% body fat) and my journey began.. Fast forward two years to today. I’m now somewhere between 170-180 lbs, stronger, faster, leaner and more disciplined than I’ve ever been.

I failed my first 300 lb squat since my Junior or Senior year in high school on March 3rd, 2019... I failed twice that day.. I tried it again on May 10, 2019. Only 2 months and 7 days later..

I’m not the strongest man alive. I don’t finish my workouts before everyone else. I didn’t win my first competition. I don’t have biggest muscles or the best looking abs and I’m ok with that. It was never about those things..
